D-backs Use Long Ball to Blank Rangers

Arizona's offense hammers Texas in 10-0 win

The Arizona Diamondbacks used the long ball to blank the Texas Rangers 10-0 on Tuesday night at Chase Field. The D-backs hit four home runs in the game, including a pair of two-run shots from Ketel Marte and David Peralta.

Marte got the scoring started with a two-run homer in the first inning off Rangers starter Kohei Arihara. Peralta followed with a two-run shot of his own in the second inning to give the D-backs a 4-0 lead.

Arizona added to its lead with a solo homer from Pavin Smith in the third inning and a two-run homer from Christian Walker in the fourth inning. The D-backs finished the scoring with a solo homer from Josh Rojas in the eighth inning.

D-backs starter Merrill Kelly allowed just two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings to earn the win. The Rangers bullpen allowed four runs on six hits over the final three innings.

D-backs offense continues to impress
